たぶん、この場合
murmur がぼやきの意味に近いと思われた。
＜例＞
murmur a complaint ブツブツ文句｛もんく｝を言う
mutter という単語もある。
＜例＞
mutter grumpily 不機嫌｛ふきげん｝につぶやく
mutter under one’s breath 小声｛こごえ｝でブツブツと文句｛もんく｝［不平｛ふへい｝］を言う
